Cloud Decisions Now Includes IBM Bare Metal Servers for VPC

Gartner’s Cloud Decisions is a collection of online tools that allow users to make informed decisions concerning their cloud needs.

A new addition to the product is the recently announced IBM Bare Metal Servers for VPC. IBM states these bare metal servers can be provisioned in 10 minutes or less, across multizone regions. These are offered both with or without NVMe-based secondary storage. Some of the key features are shown below:

  • Intel Xeon Platinum 8260 CPUs
  • VMware ESXi 7.0 support
  • 100 Gbps uplinks with SmartNIC technology
  • NVMe-based secondary storage – 16x JBOD 3.2 TB NVMeu.2 local options
  • 10 minute rapid provisioning (priced hourly)

The two bare metal server profiles, bx2-metal-192×768 and bx2d-metal-192×768 are shown in the image below.
