We performed a Performance Test for Tencent Cloud Object Storage across several regions. This test was run from Sydney, Australia. As shown in the image above, there is significant variance in the downlink and latency results between regions, with the greatest difference seen in the Downlink [256KB – 10MB/2 threads] results (second column). In this category, the ap-jakarta region yielded the best performance, with a median of 39.18Mb/s. The ap-hongkong, ap-bangkok and ap-singapore regions followed closely behind with medians of 38.28, 38.22 and 38.03Mb/s respectively.
If we switch over to look at latency results, the best performance was from ap-singapore, with a median latency of 152.5ms. This was followed by ap-jakarta (179.5ms), ap-bangkok (186.5ms) and, perhaps rather surprisingly, na- siliconvalley (197.5ms). Unsurprisingly, the worst result came from sa-saopaulo, with a median latency of 809.5ms – more than 5x that of the ap-singapore region.
